SplashGolf: A Water Mini-Golf Course
As seen in Tourist Attractions and Parks magazine January 2015
SplashGolf, a water oriented miniature golf course from Adventure Golf Service, debuted at the 2014 IAAPA Attractions Expo. The attraction has nine mini-golf holes with special water effects on each hole, all of which are mounted on a splash pad made from a patented panel system.
“This concept was created to help fill the need for more passive water activities in the waterpark arsenal of highpowered, water-action events,” said Adventure Golf Services President Scott Lundmark. “We have recognized the age-old issue of blending active and passive activities in waterparks and this product does the job. We also wanted to bring the water up onto the course and bring the player into the water for a completely new and fun experience. It is a water activity game that can be played by anyone the same as traditional miniature golf course. The difference is that the water, the sprays, the fountains and more are very much interactive with the players, not just the ball and game.”
“SplashGolf is fun, wet and entertaining,” said Arne Lundmark, chief designer. “This is a game that the player never knows what is going to happen to the miniature golf ball and where it will go. On several golf holes, layers may blast the mini-golf balls around with water cannons as the other player tries for a hole in one. Playing the water vortex hole leads to surprise as the water spins the ball where it may come out on two different areas of the green.”
The 4,000-square-foot, ADA-accessible, zero-depth splash pad is covered with colorful flexible seamless paving material, which can include any custom design or image such as sea critters.
